Christmas

Brayden had his last surgery on his shoulder to remove his plate so he had a few days off of work to heal up and then was back on right before Christmas. We had a few days off so we wanted to go home the weekend before Christmas to be with our families. We made it home for the Crapo shrimp party it was fun until Santa came...Madi waved from far and was excited to talk to him then he called her name and the tears and screams were heard (she has loved eating the treat from Santa) she keeps talking about how Santa knew her name!! She was very impressed/terrified. The homemade ice cream at the end made the whole part better. She would only eat from grandma!! We also went to our friend Christmas party but of course no pictures were taken but I did leave with better abs from laughing so hard! It was so much fun to see everyone!

This was the very first Christmas that we haven't been with family. Christmas Eve I felt like all I did was cook and clean, it is a lot more work when you have to have the party and you don't just show up;) Madi helped bake sugar cookies for Santa we made a breakfast for Christmas morning and then started the tri tip for dinner. Poor dad was on a project of hanging our tv so he was a little busy all day. When all the things were done we watched frosty the snowman opened Jammies and then put the cookies out with santas favorite mt dew and right to bed we went reading a few of our favorite Christmas books!

I am guessing this will be the last year we have to wake Madi up on Christmas. We let her sleep until 8:30 and we couldn't wait any longer! When we started waking her up and telling her Santa came she kept her eyes closed but she had the biggest smile on her face! All she wanted was a pink kitchen and Santa delivered! As she was opening up some presents she said "this is the best day" we all thought the same!

She would ride her horse while Elsa and Anna would watch:)

We headed over to the Mikael and Jenna's house for brunch and then kids all told what they got. We got back home had some Christmas naps and then played the rest of the day face timing with family too. It was a quite Christmas but it is always magical with a little one. One of Madi's favorite Christmas decorations was the nativity she always made sure the people were in the right spot and sometimes I would catch her playing with Mary giving baby Jesus kisses. It was so fun to teach her the true meaning of Christmas even though she kept trying to sing happy birthday to Jesus when I would explain:) we hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas!
