This was the very first Christmas that we haven't been with family. Christmas Eve I felt like all I did was cook and clean, it is a lot more work when you have to have the party and you don't just show up;) Madi helped bake sugar cookies for Santa we made a breakfast for Christmas morning and then started the tri tip for dinner. Poor dad was on a project of hanging our tv so he was a little busy all day. When all the things were done we watched frosty the snowman opened Jammies and then put the cookies out with santas favorite mt dew and right to bed we went reading a few of our favorite Christmas books!
I am guessing this will be the last year we have to wake Madi up on Christmas. We let her sleep until 8:30 and we couldn't wait any longer! When we started waking her up and telling her Santa came she kept her eyes closed but she had the biggest smile on her face! All she wanted was a pink kitchen and Santa delivered! As she was opening up some presents she said "this is the best day" we all thought the same!
We headed over to the Mikael and Jenna's house for brunch and then kids all told what they got. We got back home had some Christmas naps and then played the rest of the day face timing with family too. It was a quite Christmas but it is always magical with a little one. One of Madi's favorite Christmas decorations was the nativity she always made sure the people were in the right spot and sometimes I would catch her playing with Mary giving baby Jesus kisses. It was so fun to teach her the true meaning of Christmas even though she kept trying to sing happy birthday to Jesus when I would explain:) we hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas!
